Winter Storm Warnings Have Been Posted Until 1A.M Wednesday

Here comes another one! Winter Storm Warnings are posted for all of lower Michigan for tonight through all of tomorrow. Winter Weather Advisories are posted for the Eastern UP.Overnight look for snow to develop over most of lower Michigan. It may be nearly daybreak before it begins near the Straits and in the UP. An inch of snow is possible far north. Coming south there is a good chance of up to 3", overnight, for many areas. Lows drop into the mid 20's. Winds remain light.Tuesday will be a very wintery day. Substantial wet snow is expected for all of lower Michigan with the heaviest snow band of 6-12" running between M-32 and M-55, including Gaylord, Grayling, Houghton Lake, Cadillac and Traverse City. South of there, snow will run 3-5+". Across the UP 2-3 " is more like it.

Lower Michigan snow will be wet and heavy and producing very slushy, slippery roads quickly, tomorrow morning. Where heavier snow falls roads will become snow packed quickly.Snow continues into Tuesday night with additional lighter accumulation possible. Behind this storm, snow showers stay with us through Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will be very cold again Wednesday before moderating into the 20's for Thursday and Friday. Temperatures climb into the 30's for many areas over the weekend.
